ADVENTURE TRAVEL WITH THE ABAYUDAYA JEWS OF UGANDA JEWISH LIFE IN UGANDA MITZVAH TOUR AND WILDLIFE SAFARI.

Day one- Sunday 15th January 2012
Arrival and transfer to Entebbe Golf Course Hotel Hotel. BB

Day two- Monday 16th January 2012: Transfer to the magnificent Murchison Falls game Park
Start the drive through Kampala Northwards through a series of districts. Lunch at Masindi Hotel - a gate way to Budongo Forest and Murchison falls National Park. Watch out for the mighty tropical Budongo forest. Rather more appealing is the green, leafy stretch of surburbia that runs north from the town center past the golf course. A visit to the top of the mighty Murchison falls is extra ordinary - a point where the water escapes through a narrow gorge forming splendid thunder and roar! Relax and take photographs at the spot with a permanent rainbow. Ferry Crossing to Paraa Safari lodge which offers comfortable accommodation and typical Ugandan hospitality. Dinner and overnight at Paraa Safari Lodge.  FB

Day three- Tuesday 17th January 2012: Morning game safari and afternoon launch cruise along the Victoria Nile
Morning breakfast, and thereafter transverse in the northern part for a game drive. Watch out for elephant herds, buffalo and water buck herds, giraffes, lions, leopards, Uganda kobs, and a variety of bird and other animal species. After lunch, enjoy a launch cruise to the bottom of the mighty Murchison falls-an opportunity to see the amazing hippos, crocodiles along the riverbanks. Return to the lodge or camp for dinner and over night stay. FB

Day four– Wednesday 18th January 2012
Today we do another morning game drive in search of what could have been missed the previous day; we come back to the lodge and relax at the pool as we await lunch. Later in the evening we shall do a night game drive looking out for nocturnal wildlife including the blotched genet, serval cat, leopard, nightjars and evening bats, back to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day five – Thursday 19th January 2012: Chimp tracking and visit to the Top of the falls
After early morning breakfast, we shall cross the Victoria Nile to the southern sector of Murchison Falls National Park to the tropical rain forest area of Kaniyo Pabid, we shall join guides at the starting point for a small briefing then set off for chimp tracking. Enjoy the services of our guide who will give you detailed information on primates, forest, flora and fauna. Not only chimps but this forest has other primates including the olive baboon, red tailed monkey, black and white collobus a variety of birds including the rare Puvell’s Illadopsis, Yellow Longbill, Narinas Tragon, Fire Crested Allethe, Red Tailed Anti Thrush, Brown Eared Woodpecker to mention but a few. After the tracking, depending on the time we find these primates, we shall get back to the starting point and enjoy a picnic lunch then visit the top of the falls where the park derives its name. HB

Day six- Friday 20th January 2012: Transfer to Mbale.
Today we transfer to Mbale where we check in at Mount Elgon Hotel for dinner and over night stay for the rest of the nights till the day of our flights. This evening we prepare for the Shabbat eve service at Nabugoye Hill. Back to the lodge for dinner and over night stay.

Day seven – Saturday 21st January 2012: Shabbat
After early morning breakfast, we shall join the Abayudaya Jews at Nabugoye Hill for the Shabbat service, we shall have lunch with the Abayudaya, back to the hotel. Today we have dinner at the hotel then Havdalah at 7 pm at Nabugoye, later to the hotel for over night stay.


Day eight – Sunday 22nd January 2012 Jewish Music and Dance Festival
Early morning at leisure and relaxing at the pool, after lunch we shall get our shuttles to join all the Abayudaya communities at Nabugoye Hill for the Abayudaya Music and Dance Festival.

Day nine-Monday 23rd January 2012: Interacting and learning more about the Jews of Uganda
Today after breakfast, we shall take a tour of the Abayudaya schools then the Namanyonyi synagogue, back to the hotel for lunch, then later in the afternoon we shall meet the Mirembe Kawomera coffee farmers in Nangolo and learn more about coffee farming and processing.

Day ten – Tuesday 24th January 2012: Visit the beautiful Sipi Falls
We visit the Sabinyi traditional caves in the afternoon after a hike to the sipi falls, one of the beautiful falls still left in Africa. Over night at Mount Elgon Hotel Mbale.

Day eleven – Wednesday 25th  January 2012: learning more about Judaism in Uganda
After breakfast we visit the Namutumba and Nasenyi Synagogue. Where Judaism evolved in Uganda.

Day twelve – Thursday 26st January 2012
After breakfast we shall have a Mitzvah volunteer day, we shall teach and have games with the local Abayudaya community.

Day thirteen – Friday 27th  January 2012
Early morning hike to the wanale cliff where we shall have the best view of Mbale town and later in the afternoon we shall have last shopping in Mbale town. Today we shall also have a Shabbat eve service at Nabugoye Hill.

Day fourteen – Saturday 28th January 2012
After early morning breakfast, we shall join the Abayudaya Jews at Nabugoye Hill for the Shabbat service, we shall have lunch with the Abayudaya, back to the hotel. Today we have dinner at the hotel then Havdalah at 7 pm at Nabugoye, later to the hotel for over night stay.

Day fifteen – Sunday 29th January 2012
We shall transfer to Kampala and Entebbe onwards via the source of the Nile and lunch will be in Jinja then later continue where we have a visit to the craft centre at the National Theatre, for shopping we shall have a farewell dinner then later transfer to the airport. End of our trip, come again.
